The Must-Read Books & Resources for MenPaths

A must read for HSPs

If you read nothing else…

You must read these two titles. The Highly Sensitive Person by Dr. Elaine Aron is the HSP’s text. Stop asking mindless questions and read the seminal book on your trait. You’ll not regret it.

If you’re also and empath—and most of us are both—then read The Empath’s Survival Guide by Judith Orloff, MD. It is considered the book on how and why empaths are like they are. It’s also full of common sense and easy-to-follow practices that can help you adapt in a world that doesn’t understand empaths.

Also a great read for empaths.

More great reads for HSPs and Empaths

I loved The Awakened Empath by Aletheia Luna and Mateo Sol of Lonerwolf.com. They write for the spiritually-minded HSP and empath.

Dr. Ted Zeff was an author and speaker and wrote the seminal book for parents of sensitive boys. Even if you’re not a parent, The Strong Sensitive Boy will give you insight into the MenPath in your life…especially if that’s you!

Blogs & Websites

When I made the decision to embrace my MenPathic superpowers, I read a lot, and the following websites and blogs were very helpful:

  • MenPathic ~ Feeling Everything at Full Volume - Our sister site offers both free and paid subscriptions, each with associated benefits

  • The Highly Sensitive Person - written by Dr. Elaine Aron, the pioneering psychologist and researcher who brought the HSP trait to the forefront

  • Judith Orloff, MD - Dr. Orloff is another pioneer and a psychiatrist specializing in the study and counseling of empaths and is also responsible for educating us all about this unique set of traits.

  • IntrovertDear.com - This site hosts hundreds of articles about what it means to be an introvert. Most MenPaths are introverts, so this is a valid option for educating yourself on this personality type.

  • HighlySensitiveRefuge.com - written by Jenn Granneman, who also runs IntrovertDear, and others on various categories that focus on the HSP lifestyle.

  • LonerWolf.com - a site that’s a bit more broad in terms of a spiritual approach to life apart from Big Religion, that also has a lot to say on the topics of being an empath and an HSP.
